Irfan Pathan has disclosed that he has always informed Umran Malik to work to improve his line and length while maintaining his speed.
Based on his success in the IPL 2022, Umran has been named to Team India’s 18-man team for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. Umran completed the tournament with 22 wickets for the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Pathan was questioned about the statement he gave Umran during a conversation on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan.’ He replied:
“I always inform him that while you should concentrate on your line and length, you must not slow down at all. Everything will come eventually if he attempts to maintain the ball close to the 3 stumps and bowls the hard length.”
“I have only one suggestion for him after every tournament, whether it’s in the IPL or have been in the future: what you played well today and where you need to continue improving.”
“This procedure must continue until he or anybody performs cricket. We’ve seen Sachin Tendulkar obey this process, despite the fact no one else has had a career like his” Irfan Pathan Added.

Umran’s mentor also discussed his conversations with coaches and selectors at differing stages about the Jammu speedster. Irfan Pathan mentioned:
“If you look at his background, you’ll notice that he hasn’t managed to play much first-class cricket. When I’ve spoken to India-A coaches, higher-level coaches, or selectors, all I’ve said about Umran is to back him up when he’s not performing well enough and raise him when he is” Irfan Pathan said.
India will play South Africa in a five-match Twenty20 International series beginning on June 9, 2022. This is an important series for India because they are on the verge of breaking a world record. India has won 12 successive T20Is, matching Afghanistan’s record. If India defeats South Africa in the first T20I, they will make history.
