South Africa have started the series on a winning note as they look to make the best of this series. Facing India is their best preparation for the T20 World Cup to be played in India and they have started on a winning note as well. Their previous match against India was almost perfect for their batters given how they chased down the big total. It turned out to be their highest successful chase ever bettering their previous best of 206 back in 2007.
Chasing seems to be the way forward in the series and the Proteas after a good game might not look to change their playing XI in the second T20I. In this article, we predict South Africa’s playing XI for the second T20I against India on Sunday.
India vs South Africa: South Africa’s Predicted Playing XI Against India, 2nd T20I
Quinton de Kock (WK)
De Kock will open the batting along with skipper Temba Bavuma. He is one of the most experienced players in the side and one player who has a high success rate playing against India. He scored 22 in the first T20I and will look to better that in Cuttack.

Temba Bavuma (C)
Bavuma scored a quickfire 17 but was dismissed unfortunately in Delhi. Both De Kock and Bavuma will look to give a good start to their side in the second T20I.
Rassie van der Dussen
After a slow start, Dussen ended on an unbeaten 75 a South Africa chased down their highest-successful chase in T20Is. He should stick to his number three position in the batting-order.
David Miller
Miller scored an unbeaten 64 and added a 131-run with Dussen to help his side win the first T20I. He should bat at number four.
Dwaine Pretorius
Pretorious was sent in at number three in the batting-order in Delhi. It paid off to an extent as he scored a quickfire 29 off 13 balls in the big run-chase. In normal circumstances, he would bat at number five.
Tristan Stubbs
Stubbs made his T20I debut for South Africa in the last game against India. He did not get his chance with the bat. He should retain his place in the XI.
Wayne Parnell
The left-arm seamer played his first T20I since 2017 in the last game against India. He went for 32 runs of his spell and took a wicket. He also should retain his place in the XI.
Keshav Maharaj
Maharaj will be one of the two spinners in the South African playing XI. He was a bit expensive in the first game but also got few to turn big.
Tabraiz Shamsi
Shamsi will pair up with Maharaj from the other end. He is one of the best bowlers in T20I cricket at the moment. He just bowled two overs in the first T20I.
Kagiso Rabada
Rabada will spearhead the Protean pace attack. He is fresh off a good IPL season personally. He ended with 23 wickets and has the necessary experience of playing in Indian conditions.
Anrich Nortje
Nortje completes the likely playing XI South Africa would like to field in the second T20I against India. It is the same bunch of players that won the first T20I and there is no reason why they cannot do it once more.
