South Africa take on India in a three-match T20I and ODI series starting with the first T20I in Thiruvananthapuram. The next two T20Is will be played in Guwahati (October 2) and Indore (October 4). The series then moves on to the three ODIs starting with the first ODI in Lucknow on October 6.

The second and the third ODI will be played in Ranchi (October 9) and Delhi (October 11) respectively. Both India and South Africa are placed in the same group for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

In 2019, they again drew the T20I series 1-1. They are heading into the series after playing a series against England. They drew the ODI series 1-1, won the T20I series 2-1 and lost the Test series 2-1.

Markram can bat at number three and anchor the innings for his side. He has enough experience of playing in the IPL as well across different venues and he plays spin well.

Klaasen can be chosen over Janneman Malan for the number four slot as he has more experience of playing in Indian pitches. He also can strike it big against spin bowling.

David Miller

Like De Kock, Miller also has a lot of experience playing on Indian pitches. He will slot in at number five in the lineup and can play the finisher’s role.

Pretorious can be one of the two all-rounders in the XI. He can bat, bowl and is also an excellent fielder to boot. He can also be used as a floater in the lineup.
