India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj committed a comedy of errors in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series against South Africa National Cricket Team and gifted a free boundary to the visitors.
The second ODI of the three-match ODI series between Shikhar Dhawan-led India National Cricket Team and Keshav Maharaj-led South Africa National Cricket Team, which is part of the ongoing South Africa tour of India 2022, is being played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Sunday, October 9.

In the 48th over of the South Africa innings, a funny incident involving pacer Mohammed Siraj took place. On the second ball of the over, Siraj delivered a back-of-a-length delivery just outside off to Keshav Maharaj and the Proteas captain was beaten on the inside edge.
The ball went to wicket-keeper Sanju Samson and he simply collected it and threw it back to the pacer. Frustrated Mohammed Siraj while walking back saw David Miller out of the crease and threw the ball at the non-striker’s stumps, but the throw missed big time and the ball went for a four with the mid-on fielder getting no chance to stop the ball.
Siraj and India captain Shikhar Dhawan were not happy with the decision as they thought that the ball was already dead when it went towards the boundary rope.

Earlier, South Africa National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They made two huge changes to the playing XI as skipper Temba Bavuma and left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi – the players who failed to perform in the first ODI – were rested and Reeza Hendricks and Bjorn Fortuin replaced them. Also, Keshav Maharaj was handed over the captaincy responsibility.
On the other hand, India National Cricket Team also made two changes to the playing XI as spin-bowling all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed was handed the debut cap and he along with Washington Sundar replaced top-order batter Ruturaj Gaikwad and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
Batting first, South Africa posted 278/7 on the board with the help of amazing half-centuries by Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks.
