IND vs SL: I Think It's A Very Special Feeling To Play A Test Match At Home – Mayank Agarwal On Playing Pink-ball Test In Bengaluru

Indian opening batsman Mayank Agarwal ahead of the second Test of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, had said that playing a Test match at home is a “special feeling”.

Mayank has been representing Karnataka at the domestic level since 2010 and he played his first List A game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2012. However, in the pink-ball Test match against Sri Lanka, he was very unlucky as he got run-out on a no-ball after scoring just 4 runs.

Meanwhile, ahead of the game, the opener had said that not many players get the opportunity to play a Test game at home. He said:

“I think it’s a very special feeling to play a Test match at home, not many have an opportunity to do so and it feels really nice to be part of the team.”

India have won the first Test in a dominant style to get a 1-0 lead and Sri Lanka looked clueless in the Mohali Test match. Mayank further said:

“Very honestly, we are not looking at it that way. We are looking to play the best cricket that we can day after day and game after game and we’re looking to improve ourselves, irrespective of the result, irrespective of the team that we play.”

“He’s the same, man. He’s not different when he is batting, he is quite a relaxed guy, he likes to enjoy himself and he does express himself while batting and on the field.”

“Yes, we do set targets but it’s more like trying to help each other, navigate what is happening in the first two hours and then take it from there.”
