Premier Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has revealed the real reason behind left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav getting released from the Indian squad ahead of the second and final Test match of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which will be a pink-ball Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Axar Patel was recovering from a shin injury and he had missed the South Africa tour and the home series against West Indies. However, he returned to the squad by replacing Kuldeep in the team for the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, on Friday, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah said that the Indian team management has not removed Kuldeep from the set-up and he has just been released due to bio-bubble fatigue keeping in mind the mental aspect.

“We have not removed him (Kuldeep Yadav) from the team. He has been in the bubble for a long time and hence he has been released. Staying in a bubble is not easy. The mental aspect is important,” said Bumrah in the presser ahead of the second Test.

Premier Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah also showered praise on the left-arm spinner Axar Patel and said that he has contributed in all three departments.

“Axar Patel has added a lot of value whenever he has played, has contributed a lot and offers a lot in all departments. He was injured but he jumps straight back in when he’s fit. We’ll discuss our combination but of course, he’s valuable,” Bumrah further said.
