India and Sri Lanka resume their rivalry with another upcoming T20I and Test series. The first of the three T20I will be played in Lucknow. Players from both teams have reached the venue and have started preparations as well. India will be eyeing revenge at home for their loss against Sri Lanka when they toured the country last year.
The series is set up very well as Sri Lanka are also looking to come back to winning ways after being humbled by Australia 4-1 in their own backyard. There is a lot at stake for both teams as they venture into a new series. India will look to continue their dominant run at home, while the Lankans would look to turn the table on their Indian counterparts.
Talking about the squads, India have been jolted early in the series as Deepak Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav are ruled out with injuries. It’s a new-look Indian team as some players have made a return to the Indian squad.

Sri Lanka on the other hand, are fresh off a series defeat against Australia. They lost 5-1 managing to avoid a whitewash as they won the last T20I. They are ranked ninth in the ICC rankings as opposed to India topping the table. The numbers very well tell the current form of the two teams heading into the first match and the series. Plus they have key players ruled out as well which comes as a big concern ahead of the first T20I in Lucknow.
