Indian Cricket Team registered a nervy win over Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI. The hosts won the match by 4 wickets and sealed the ODI Series. The wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul played a match-winning knock of 64 runs in 103 balls and struck 6 fours where he showed great mental application & was in complete control.
The Lankan bowlers bowled their hearts out but a target of 216 runs was quite below par against a deep Indian batting lineup. The wrist-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga gave away only 28 runs in his 10 overs but he was wicketless which hurt the team.

Mohammad Kaif on KL Rahul
Mohammad Kaif was having an interaction with Star Sports and was asked about KL Rahul. “He has come through extremely difficult times. He was in a very bad situation in the Tests against Bangladesh. He is not even the vice-captain of this team now. He has seen everything in three-four months but his bat is firing at No. 5.” said Mohammad Kaif.

“He played cautiously when he had to play like that here. In the last match, when he had to score quick runs, there were wickets in hand and the team had gotten off to a start, he did that there. KL Rahul has become a mature batter.” he added.
Delight for India
The peculiarity of the 2nd ODI victory for India was that the team didn’t panic after the top order collapsed. The duo KL Rahul & Hardik Pandya played showed great fighting spirit as the Men in Blue were in a spot of bother at 86-4 where one more wicket could have changed the course of the match.

Skipper Dasun Shanaka & Head Coach Chris Silverwood need to have some serious conversations with batting unit as this is the second time the team has fallen like a pack of cards. The island nation would be hoping to salvage some pride in the 3rd ODI which is scheduled on 15th January (Sunday).
