IND vs SL: "I Think It Was A Captain's Performance"- Sri Lanka Skipper Dasun Shanaka After Winning Player Of The Match Against India In The 2nd T20I Match

Sri Lankan Cricket Team won the 2nd T20I match by 16 runs and now has squared the series. The island nation would be pumped up as defeating any Indian side is never easy. The visitors created havoc as they reduced India to 39-4 in the power-play overs in the steep chase of 207 runs.
Skipper Hardik Pandya would be utterly disappointed with the batters. The dashing right handed batter Suryakumar Yadav & all-rounder Axar Patel were involved in a mammoth 91 runs partnership. Axar Patel played a breath taking knock of 65 runs in 31 balls where he struck 3 fours and 6 sixes but couldn’t take the team over the finish line.

Sri Lankan Skipper Dasun Shanaka would be mightily pleased with the team’s performance. The batter earlier smashed a thunderstorm knock of 56 runs in 32 balls where he struck 2 fours & 6 sixes. It looked as if he was toying with the bowlers as he was whacking them all-around the park.
Shanaka’s decision to bowl the 20th over when India required 21 runs proved to be quite fruitful. The all-rounder didn’t give the batters room and was quite spot-on with his line & length. The skipper would be well aware of the fact that they need to work on their bowling in the middle overs phase.

We could’ve done well in the middle part- Dasun Shanka
During post match presentation, Shanaka was asked whether it was a captain’s performance. “I think so. We could’ve done well in the middle part. Game was set by the openers. Need to play well in the middle order to allow finishers to finish well.” said Dasun Shanaka.
It’s the skill of Indian batters – Dasun Shanaka
“It’s not the dew factor, it’s the skill of Indian batters. They took the game away from us but still we managed to hold the nerve. Really good to defend the total especially against India in these conditions.” he added.
