Chandradasa Brahammana Ralalage Lahiru Sudesh Kumara replaced Dilshan Madushanka in the playing XI for the second ODI as the latter had hurt his shoulder while diving in the first ODI in Guwahati.
Although Kumara was quite expensive, he got two huge breakthroughs for his side in the powerplay. He dismissed in-form Shubman Gill with a 142.1kph delivery in the 6th over and the young opener smashed 21 runs off 12 balls, including 5 fours.

Then, the 25-year-old right-arm pacer cleaned up Virat Kohli in the 10th over and the modern-day batting great, who has 73 international centuries to his name, got out after contributing just 4 runs off 9 balls, including 1 four, in the run-chase.
On the third delivery of the 10th over, Lahiru Kumara bowled a length ball to Kohli that pitched outside off-stump and nipped back in sharply. Kohli was stuck on the crease and he was taken aback by the bounce and the movement. He tried to defend awkwardly and ended up inside edging the ball onto the stumps.
Sri Lanka Bundled Out For 215 As Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj Shine With Ball
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. After losing the wicket of Avishka Fernando in the powerplay, debutant Nuwanidu Fernando and Kusal Mendis provided stability to the Lankan innings and both the batters looked fluent out in the middle. They stitched up a brilliant 73 runs partnership in 66 balls.
Then, Sri Lanka faced a spectacular batting collapse as they lost wickets at regular intervals and slipped from 102/1 to 126/6 in no time. In the end, Dunith Wellalage showed a good fight and he was part of three 25+ runs stand with Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne and Kasun Rajitha respectively.
The Lankan Team got bundled out for 215 inside 40 overs as Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj bagged three wickets each while Umran Malik bagged two wickets and Axar Patel picked up one wicket.
