Watch- Travis Head Caught Swearing On The Stump Mic During Australia's First Innings In Gabba Test
Australian middle-order batsman Travis Head was overheard swearing on the stump mic during his 152-run knock in the first innings of the Gabba Test against England.
Head smashed a stunning 85-ball 100 after the visitors were slowly crawling back into the game. His knock ensured that the England bowlers were deflated and as a result, Australia ended up with a healthy 278-run lead which eventually won them the match.
During the stupendous knock, Head had a few moments where he seemed frustrated. He was smashed on his right hand which ricocheted onto his chin when Mark Wood was steaming in and bowling bumpers at 145 kmph. There was also a funny moment that was caught on the stump mic.
In Ben Stokes‘ 8th over, Head tried to cut a ball but ended up missing it. He was vexed with himself and ended up screaming “Oh you c***!” which was clearly heard on the stump mic. Tony Harper, The Roar’s Editor, said “Oh you what? Head wasn’t the only one who let that through to the keeper. Some admirable restraint from Warne and Waugh after that C bomb.”
Here’s the moment Travis Head let out his frustration with the c-bomb:

On the back of Head’s century, Australia ended up with a lead of 278 runs after having bowled England out for 147 on Day 1. Joe Root and co. offered some stout resistance in the second essay but a similar collapse saw them being bundled out for 297.
The target of 20 was easily chased down by Australia for the loss of a solitary wicket. As expected, Head won the Man of the Match award for his century and Pat Cummins’ stint as the new Test skipper got off to the perfect start.
