IND vs WI: 3 Indian Players Who Might Retire From The ODIs After The Series

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the third player on this list. Kumar had continuously failed in his wicket-taking abilities in recent times. He struggled with his form in IPL 2021 last year. Later, he could not impress during ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

During the recent IND vs SA ODI series, the right-arm pacer failed to get wickets in the two opening games and was dropped from the third ODI. He was also overlooked for the IND vs WI ODI series, however, is part of the squad in the T20I series. Hence, Kumar might think of retiring from the ODI format after the IND vs WI series.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is another player on this list. While Dhawan is a powerful hitter in the limited-overs format, there are two reasons that he might pull the curtains down on his career.

To begin with, Dhawan has turned 36 years old and has only a few years left in his career. Moreover, many openers like KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan replace Dhawan from the squad in major tournaments and bilateral series.

1. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is the first player on this list. The left-arm spinner has been picked in the squad for the IND vs WI ODI series. However, with Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi too in the squad, Yadav might have to warm the bench during the series. Kuldeep Yadav was once India’s top spinner, however, he lost that place in the team in the last two years.

He is mostly overlooked for the bilateral series and major tournaments with many spinners like Rahul Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel in the queue. Hence, the left-arm spinner might put an end to his ODI career after the IND vs WI series as selectors are not proving him enough opportunities.
