In December 2021, the West Indies Tour Of Pakistan 2021 took place where both teams locked horns in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) and three-match One Day International (ODI) series. The 2020–23 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League would have included this ODI series of the West Indies Tour Pakistan 2021. In November 2021, the West Indies In Pakistan 2021 schedule was confirmed. The West Indies women's team travelled to Pakistan for three matches prior to the West Indies Tour To Pakistan 2021.

Multiple COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the West Indies team and support personnel during the T20I series of the WI Tour Of Pak 2021. The ODI series was postponed until June 2022 by both cricket bodies, despite the T20I matches proceeding as scheduled of the West Indies Tour Of Pakistan 2021. Due to an injury sustained during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2021, Kieron Pollard was unable to participate in the tour. In Pollard's absence, Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran were selected skippers of the West Indies ODI and T20I squads of West Indies Tour Pakistan 2021, respectively.
