Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan captain, has secured a significant claim on both sides ahead of the Asia Cup clash on August 28.
On August 28, the men’s cricket teams of India and Pakistan will face off in a high-profile match in the 2022 Asia Cup.

Since Babar Azam’s team’s easy 10-wicket triumph at the T20 World Cup last year, neither team has played the other on the field. Political difficulties between India and Pakistan have put an end to their bilateral series, and now they only play each other at international (World Cups/Champions Trophy) and continental (Asia Cup) competitions.

Rashid Latif, a former captain of Pakistan, still thinks that Babar’s team will have the upper hand when they face India in the Asia Cup match in Dubai even though India has significantly changed their playing approach in the shortest format since Pakistan’s victory over them last year.

‘They would have some problem making their best team’: Rashid Latif

On his official YouTube channel, “Caught Behind,” Latif provided an in-depth analysis of both teams. He claimed that India’s inconsistent captaincy and key players Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli might cost them the match against Pakistan.

“Win or lose, it does not matter. However, I believe Pakistan’s plan is much more promising. Whether it is a T20I, ODI, or Test, the Pakistani team has not undergone many changes. In the past year, India has had about 7 captains, which is rather out of place given the current circumstances” Latif remarked.

“Rohit and Rahul were injured, Kohli was not there. Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan (ODI), and Hardik Pandya all came as captains. Making their best team would provide some challenges for them. India undoubtedly has the finest players, but they can not even field their top 16 players, and I believe they would have to play even their best XI, ” the former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif further added.

The India vs Pakistan match will take place on August 28 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
