Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh appreciated Virat Kohli for taking a break from cricket ahead of the Asia Cup 2022.
Kohli has been struggling to score runs for more than a year with fans and experts wanting him to show the older version of a run machine.
Virat Kohli to resume cricket after a one-month break
Kohli was rested for the ODI series against West Indies along with a few other senior players. The Indian batter requested the BCCI to skip the T20Is against Nicholas Pooran & co as well as the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe this month.
Ahead of India’s blockbuster clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022, Kohli opened up about his break and those emotions that affected his mental well-being.

I am glad Virat Kohli took a break: Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan, who has played with Kohli for the Indian team, said the break will be beneficial to the former Indian captain to subdue his rough patch.
“I think he’s done a very good thing, staying away from the game, and it is going to help him. It’s a great remedy, and a lot of people have used it and have benefited by doing so,” Harbhajan told Sports Tak.

“If you are too much into the game and have the intensity that Virat Kohli has, like he just wants to go out there and showcase his talent and win each and every game. He was probably just too deep into that. His runs haven’t been coming up lately and he needed some time off.
“I am glad he took a break and spent time with his family and didn’t think about the game for those 30-odd days. Once you come back fresh, all you need to do is enjoy the game.
“He’s a champion and a legend. Even if he leaves today, he is going to remain a legend of the game. Hopefully, we’ll see him score runs,” he added.
Kohli is likely to start for India in Sunday’s clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
