Aaron Finch (C)

Finch has had a torrid time in ODI cricket in recent times. However, he has a good record against India in T20Is and would like to build on that.
Matthew Wade (WK)

With David Warner and Mitchell Marsh both not available for the series, Wade will open the batting along with Finch. Both need to give their team a good start.
Steve Smith

Smith will slot in at number three. He has been in good form in recent times. He is also likely to succeed Finch as the next ODI skipper for Australia.
Glenn Maxwell

The all-rounder will slot in at number four. He has a T20I hundred against India to his name and loves playing against them in India.
Cameron Green

Green is the second specialist all-rounder in this XI. He will come into the side for Marcus Stoinis who is out of the series injured.
Tim David

David is likely to make his T20I debut for Australia. He is a big-ticket player and is also in the squad for the T20 World Cup. The world saw a glimpse of his power in IPL 2022.
Ashton Agar

Agar will be the specialist left-arm spinner in the XI. He is invariably a part of the playing Xi whenever Australia pays in India.
Daniel Sams

Sams is the specialist left-arm seamer in the lineup. He also can hit the ball long with the bat and can perform the all-rounder role.
Josh Hazlewood

Hazlewood will be one of the three seam options for Australia. He was always a god ODI and Test bowler and since the last IPL has bettered himself as a T20I bowler as well.
Pat Cummins

Cummins will lead the pace attack in the absence of Mitchell Starc. His battle with the Indian top-order will be a mouthwatering clash in the series.
Adam Zampa

Zampa, the leggie will conclude Australia’s likely playing XI for the first T20I against India. Zampa might exploit the Indian batsmen’s weakness against leg spin.
