Australian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns with India in as many as four Test matches starting in February. The Aussies haven’t won Test Series in India since 2004. The way they have been playing, the hosts would have a steep challenge as there is no significant weakness in the Australian Team.

All eyes would be on Marnus Labuschagne as the right-handed batter has been in sublime form. It would be interesting to see whether the Aussies use their feet against the spinners or go for the sweep shot as there are chances that India may play with 3 spinners.

Andrew McDonald on India Tour

Andrew McDonald was having an interaction with Sydney Morning Herald and was asked about the India tour.

“No tour game is something we’ve done in the last few series, before embarking on overseas tours. We feel as though we don’t need that match practice as such. We’re going to go to India about a week out from the first game. We didn’t want to press for too much longer, in terms of the preparation,” said Andrew McDonald.

“We feel as though seven days is ample time to get ready and to make sure we maintain freshness throughout the whole four Test match series. We had some success doing that, going to Pakistan. We had a shortened period on the ground there?
“This time, they have planned a three-day camp in Sydney for all players not involved in the Big Bash League finals before embarking on the gruelling tour,” he added.

Great Chance for Australia

The peculiarity of this Australian side is that they are no longer dependent on Smith & Warner as the rest of the batters are taking the team out of the trouble. The management would be hoping that Green & Starc are fit and are back to their best as the duo are quite pivotal to the team’s success.

Skipper Pat Cummins will have to take some tough calls as playing with 3 seamers won’t be a feasible option on turning tracks. Last time in 2017, there was Steve O’Keefe, who had rattled the Indian batting lineup in the 1st Test Match, since then the Aussies have been searching for an effective second spinner.
