The first Test match between Pakistan and Australia is coming to a stalemate in Rawalpindi. Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian opener has slammed the state of the pitch for dishing out one-sided cricket in the first Test. Batters from both teams have enjoyed batting on this track while the bowlers have found it tough to get wickets.
Australia scored 459 in their first innings. Pakistan in response scored 476/4 and declared their first innings. Azhar Ali top-scored with 185 and shared a mammoth stand of 208 with Imam-ul-Haq, who made his maiden Test hundred. Pakistan are batting again on the final day and a draw looks to be the only result in this Test match.

Meanwhile, looking at how the Test match has panned out, Wasim Jaffer has taken a dig at the state of the Rawalpindi pitch. He said that it is surprising to see teams losing points for over-rates while it is the pitches need to be changed.
Tests These Days Rarely Go To Day 5: Wasim Jaffer
I find it amusing when Test matches get over inside 4 days yet teams lose WTC points for overrate. The biggest threat to test cricket is not overrate. Tests rarely go to day 5 anyway nowadays. The biggest threat to test cricket are dead pitches. Dead pitch = Dead game. #<!---->P<!---->A<!---->K<!---->v<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S

The current Australian team is touring Pakistan after a gap of 24 years. The last time Australia came to play in Pakistan was in 1998, they were led by Mark Taylor. They beat Pakistan in Tests and ODIs.

Australian cricket is still mourning the demise of two legendary cricketers Rod Marsh and Shane Warne. Warne’s death especially has stunned the cricket fraternity. He was found dead at his villa in Thailand. He was reportedly found dead of a suspected heart attack.
