Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis has criticised the Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team for their tactics on Day 1 of the second Test match of the three-match Test series against Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team, which is being played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The first Test match of Australia’s historic tour of Pakistan ended in a draw as there was nothing on the pitch for the bowlers and the batters kept dominating throughout the match. Notably, Australia’s world-class bowling unit was able to pick only 4 wickets in the match.

On Day 1 of the Karachi Test match, Australian batters looked comfortable and they were in a strong position at the end of the day. While terming Pakistan’s tactics as ridiculous Waqar Younis said that the match is heading towards another draw.

“The tactics I’m seeing at the moment is like we’re looking for a draw on the first day. It’s ridiculous,” Waqar was quoted as saying on-air by cricket.com.au.

Notably, on Day 1, Usman Khawaja smashed an exceptional century. Also, David Warner (36) and Steve Smith (72) contribute good runs for the team and at stumps on Day 1, Australia were at 251/3. When Day 2 commenced Australian batters once again did a good job and they reached 300 runs landmark in 102.2 overs and 350 runs in 125.1 overs.
