AFG vs SL: Watch - Mohammad Nabi Gives Death Stare To Kasun Rajitha As He Pretends To Throw Ball At Him

The game between Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is going down the wire. All-rounder Mohammad Nabi has changed the complexion of the game and has revived the hopes of the fans. 

Mohammad Nabi frustrated Sri Lankan bowlers and played a blinder. He hit almost every bowler for runs and it didn’t go well with the Kasun Rajitha. The lanky fast bowler tried to hit the ball to the Afghanistan batter during his follow through and tempers were raised. 

It was during the first ball of the 26th over when Kasun Rajitha bowled a slower delivery to Mohammad Nabi. The batter defended it back to the bowler, who mocked a throw at the striker. This didn’t go well with the Afghanistan all-rounder as he didn’t shy away and gave him a death stare. The incident charged up the crowd and here’s the video:

Mohammad Nabi came to bat when Afghanistan were tottering at 121/4 while chasing down the target of 292 runs. To qualify for the Super Four stage, they need to complete the game in around 37 overs. It didn’t seem that Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side would win. 

However, Mohammad Nabi changed the course of the game. He came out all guns blazing and smashed a quick-fire fifty that brought Afghanistan back into the game. He also smashed the fastest fifty for his team in the ODI format.

Mohammad Nabi looked to put every ball past the boundary line and in the end, he mistimed one ball from Maheesh Theekshana. The all-rounder tried to hit a short ball from the bowler towards the wide long-on. 

He got cramped for the room and found a fielder near the boundary ropes. Mohammad Nabi ended with the knock of 65 runs off 32 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 203.12 and also smashed 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.
