Former Pakistan players Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Amir clashed on national television while predicting the winner of the India vs England T20 World Cup semi-final. Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will take on Harry Brook's England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5.
The winner of this match will face New Zealand in the grand final on Sunday, March 8, in Ahmedabad. The Black Caps became the first team to reach the final after thrashing South Africa by nine wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday. They chased down a 170-run target in just 12.5 overs.
Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Amir Clash Over IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semi-Final Prediction
During a television discussion about the upcoming T20 World Cup semi-final, the panel was asked to predict the winner between India and England. Mohammad Amir and Rashid Latif backed England to win the contest.
However, Ahmed Shehzad took a different view and confidently predicted a victory for India. When the host jokingly remarked that Ahmed Shehzad sounded “more Indian” for supporting the Men in Blue, the former Pakistan opener quickly responded.
"It’s about cricket, it’s about sport, and I feel their team is better. But when it comes to our country, our lives are always ready for our nation," Ahmed Shehzad stated on the show.

India Are Relying on Just One or Two Players - Mohammad Amir Goes Against Ahmed Shehzad
Mohammad Amir predicted that the Harry Brook-led team would win the upcoming semi-final against the Suryakumar Yadav-led side. The former Pakistan pacer said that India’s batting unit has not been performing consistently and appears to depend on only a few players.
Amir said that a side cannot dominate a major match if it depends on just one or two individuals. He stated that England looked like the favourites heading into the semi-final.
"India are relying on just one or two players. Most of their batting is out of form. Right now, only one or two players are carrying the team. When you depend on one or two players, you can't dominate, that's why England are favourites against India," Amir said.

They Have Come Through Tough Conditions - Rashid Latif on Harry Brook's England
Rashid Latif also backed England to defeat India in the semi-final. He pointed out that the conditions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai could work in England’s favor, especially if they chase under the lights. Latif added that England have already handled difficult situations during the tournament.
“They have come through tough conditions in the tournament. Two or three of their batters have not even succeeded yet. Buttler and Salt haven’t fired so far. If even one of them gets going, and with a strong middle order as well, then if England get to bat second in Mumbai, they will definitely have a good chance,” Latif said during the same show.
Rashid Latif said, "England will beat India in the semifinal and reach the final. And in the final, England will beat New Zealand as well. England know these conditions very well. Even if just one England player performs, that will be enough for India to lose." pic.twitter.com/kW4bu4vxim
