India fast-bowler Arshdeep Singh has left the fans in splits with his recent social media activity after his and a couple of his teammates’ failure with the bat in the first T20I against Australia. Team India beat Australia by 2 wickets in a thrilling clash in Vizag to take the lead in the five-match series.

Asked to bat first, Australia piled up a mammoth total of 208 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs. Josh Inglis starred with the bat as he scored the joint-fastest T20I century by an Australian in men’s cricket. He equaled former captain Aaron Finch’s record of a T20I century in 47 deliveries.

The right-handed batsman smashed 110 runs off 50 balls with the help of 11 fours and 8 sixes. Steve Smith also played a crucial 52-run knock before being run out. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna picked up a wicket each. As far as Arshdeep Singh is concerned, he conceded 41 runs in his 4 overs and went wicketless in the game.

Arshdeep Singh’s hilarious post:

In reply, India chased down the total with a ball to spare. The Men in Blue were off to a poor start as their opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was run out without facing a ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal started well by hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes in quick time before departing for 21 to leave India 2 down for 22.

Ishan Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav then steadied the ship and laid the foundation for a successful chase by adding 112 runs for the third wicket. Kishan scored 58 while Suryakumar scored 80 runs. Rinku Singh also played a useful cameo of 22 not out and remained at the crease till the end to take India home.

After the game, Arshdeep Singh posted a hilarious story on his Instagram handle to troll himself as well as Ravi Bishnoi and Ruturaj Gaikwad for failing to open the account with the bat. Both Arshdeep Singh and Ruturaj were run out for a duck without facing a ball while Bishnoi was run out for a golden duck.

The left-arm pacer posted a photo of himself posing alongside Bishnoi and Gaikwad and added a ‘duck emoji’ over their heads, leaving the fans in splits.
