Pat Cummins hogged the limelight in the pre-match press conference ahead of the third Test at Headingley. The Test match gets underway from July 6 and Cummins with his Australian attitude responded to a question from one of the reporters.

Pat Cummins shared his thoughts on Jonny Bairstow’s controversial dismissal and stated that he would not shy away from doing such a thing again if he gets an opportunity.

One of the reporters present at the press conference asked Cummins on whether he will try something similar at Headingley if presented with an opportunity.

During the media interaction on the eve of the third Test, Cummins was asked, “Obviously things happen in the heat of the moment and you have had time to reflect, would you do the same thing again, if presented with the opportunity here?”

Cummins had a blunt response to it saying “Yeah”.

We Have Moved On From Headingley 2019: Pat Cummins

Australia head into the Headingley Test match 2-0 up in the Ashes 2023 series. Ben Stokes, played a match-winning innings the last time the two teams played at Hedaingley in 2019. Pat Cummins responded to Stokes ton from 2019 saying that it is a thing of the past.

“I remember at the time thinking, if I hang it outside off there might be a chance to nick it. I’ve seen it about 1,000 times in the last four years. It was a fantastic Test match and the first two in this series have been fantastic,” Cummins told reporters.

“I’m sure that (Headingley) memory will be brought up quite a bit, just like 2005 was brought up at Edgbaston, but we’ve well and truly moved past that” he further added.

England announced their playing XI for the Headingley Test. James Anderson was dropped as Ollie Pope was ruled out from the test of the series. England added Moeen Ali, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes to their XI. Cummins, on the other hand, did not reveal the playing XI. However, it is assumed that Todd Murphy is likely to replace Nathan Lyon who is ruled out of the series with a calf injury.
