Veteran England pacer James Anderson expressed confidence in wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow’s ability to make a solid comeback in the remaining Ashes Tests. James Anderson highlighted that Jonny Bairstow is working hard to help the team win matches.
Jonny Bairstow’s place in the team came under fire as he failed to impress with the bat and gloves in the first three matches of the series. The right-handed batter scored 141 runs in six innings with an average of 23.5. Bairstow has managed to score only one half-century.

He Is Working As Hard As He Can – James Anderson
In his column for The Telegraph, James Anderson emphasized the importance of supporting Jonny Bairstow and hoped that the batter would bounce back.
“Jonny Bairstow is someone who wants to contribute to the team all the time, especially playing at his home ground Headingley,” Anderson wrote.
“There just needs to be a bit of patience from everyone. He is working as hard as he can to help the team and if he keeps doing that he will be fine,” he added.

It Is Not A Nice Place To Be – James Anderson
James Anderson admitted that players can have bad games and added that he himself faced similar experiences in the series.
“You are allowed to have a bad game as a player. I have experienced that in the first two Tests of this series. It is not a nice place to be,” he further stated.
“If he just gets a couple out of the middle of the bat or takes a blinding one-handed catch it will send his confidence through the roof.
He has the support of the lads. We will help him as much as we can to keep his spirits up because we know what a devastating player he can be,” he concluded.
