Bangladesh seamer Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the home series against Pakistan also, which will take place after the T20 World Cup, after he had been ruled out of the ongoing event in the UAE due to a back injury.
Earlier this week, Mohammad Saifuddin was replaced by Rubel Hossain in Bangladesh’s squad; he returned to Dhaka on Thursday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board chief physician, Debashish Chowdhury, confirmed to Cricbuzz about Mohammad Saifuddin being unavailable for the Pakistan series. He stated that the pacer will need to take a rest for at least a month before beginning his rehabilitation program to recover from his stress fracture.
“He (Saifuddin) has a stress injury. After a month’s rest he will start his rehabilitation program,” Debashish told Cricbuzz on Thursday (October 28).
According to a team official, the 24-year-old had complained about pain on the left side of his back after Bangladesh’s game against Sri Lanka.
Mohammad Saifuddin featured in the first four games for Bangladesh, picking up 5 wickets at an economy of 7.
After winning two of their three matches in Round 1, Bangladesh have lost both their game in the Super 12 stage.
