On Wednesday, West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard announced his retirement from international cricket.
On Wednesday evening, he announced his retirement from international cricket. The 34-year-old confirmed the news in a public statement on Instagram, prompting many admirers to congratulate the cricketer on social media.

Not only fans but several former and current cricketers took to social media to express their support for Pollard. Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary batsman, posted a photo of himself with the Windies all-rounder, describing him as a “fighter” and a “challenger”.

In addition, Cricket West Indies issued an official statement in this regard, congratulating Pollard on his significant contribution.
“On behalf of everyone at CWI, I’d like to congratulate Kieron Pollard for his remarkable contribution to the West Indies ODI and T20I teams over the last fifteen (15) years.”
“We accept his choice to leave international cricket, and we are appreciative for the high level of leadership and commitment he has provided to both West Indies teams since his appointment as our white-ball captain in September 2019.”
CWI President Ricky Skerritt was reported in the announcement as saying, “We wish him continued success in his profession.”
Pollard made his international debut for West Indies at the 2007 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and went on to play in 123 One-Day Internationals. In this format, he amassed 2,706 runs and 55 wickets.
Pollard made his T20I debut against Australia the following year. Pollard has a total of 1,569 runs in 101 T20I outings, including 99 sixes. In the shortest format of the game, he has 42 wickets to his name.
