Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel took perfect revenge against Jos Buttler in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The match between the two teams is underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
After setting a massive target of 222 runs for Rajasthan Royals to chase, Delhi Capitals are landing timely blows with the ball. The Rishabh Pant-led side is making sure that they chip in with wickets at regular intervals and keep themselves in the game, despite strong batting by Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson.
Axar Patel has been the vital cog behind Delhi Capitals taking wickets at regular intervals. He provided his team with the crucial breakthrough of Jos Butter and got his revenge to perfection. The keeper-batter hit him for a big six and after that, he made a sensational comeback by taking his wicket.
Axar Patel bowled a tossed-up delivery on a fuller length outside off. Jos Buttler threw his bat but didn't get it right. He managed inside edge and the ball went on to crash into the stumps to send the batter packing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Rishabh Pant was elated after the dismissal of Buttler.

Jos Buttler couldn't make much impact with the bat in the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals. The keeper-batter scored just 19 runs off just 17 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 111 and also slammed 2 fours and 1 sixes in his innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
With his wicket, Rajasthan Royals lost their second scalp and were reduced to 67/2 inside the powerplay. Earlier Yashasvi Jaiswal fell in the first over of the game. He hit four on the first ball of the innings and then got out on the second ball.
Rajasthan Royals are currently sitting second on the points table with 8 wins under their belt. They would be keen to win the game and seal the spot in the playoffs. If they manage to win today, they will officially qualify and will move to the top spot.
Riyan Parag perishes after valiant 27 runs
After Jos Buttler got out, Riyan Parag held the fort and kept his team in the hunt. The right-hander played some valiant shots in his innings and made sure that he kept his team in the hunt at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Riyan Parag however, couldn't carry on the start that he got. The batter perished to Rasikh Salam, who bowled a magnificent delivery to send the batter packing. The pacer bowled the back of the hand slower delivery that went on to hit the top of the off stump.
Ryan Parag scored 27 runs off 22 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 122 and also slammed 1 four and 3 sixes in his innings. The onus will be on skipper Sanju Samson to take his team home at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
