India won’t be visiting Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, since the BCCI has already said that team won’t be participating in the continental competition. Even if the competition is held in a neutral location, Pakistan would retain the hosting rights. The Asia Cup’s previous two iterations were held at neutral sites.

Although a final decision about the Asia Cup’s location has been postponed until March, it is certain that India will not be visiting the neighbouring nation. Ramiz Raja, who was fired from his position as head of the Pakistan Cricket Board in December 2022, had threatened to withdraw from the World Cup in response to the BCCI’s decision not to visit Pakistan.

Pakistan Should Not Go To India To Play 2023 World Cup If They Do Not Come For Asia Cup: Kamran Akmal

Numerous former cricket players supported Raja and urged Pakistan not to visit India. The same view is shared by Kamran Akmal, who visited India while he was a player. Speaking on the Nadir Ali podcast, Kamran suggested that Pakistan should avoid visiting India if the Rohit Sharma-led team withdraws from the Asia Cup since Pakistan too has respect for India.

“If India do not agree to come for the Asia Cup, we should not go to India to play the 2023 World Cup there. Hamaari bhi respect hai (We are also well respected).

We have been world champions too, have topped rankings in all formats and have won the Champions Trophy too. This is between two governments; until they are on the same page, the teams won’t go with each other. We have to see how long it goes,” Kamran said.

In September and October of 2023, a 50-over format will be used for the Asia Cup. India will host the World Cup in October-November after the Asia Cup. Pakistan’s involvement is yet unofficial, and it is still unknown whether or not they will visit the nation. The 2016 T20 World Cup was held in India, and The Men in Green did go there.
