The Pakistan National Cricket Team was once known for its fierce competition and match-winners, but the current team lacks these qualities, and that’s an open secret. Amidst the ongoing India-Pakistan match at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Harbhajan Singh said that he doesn’t think the Men in Green are able to outsmart the Men in Blue in Dubai on Sunday.

The legendary Indian spinner has expressed his concerns over the Pakistan National Cricket Team’s lack of unity and match-winners. Reflecting on the past fierce encounters between India and Pakistan, Harbhajan Singh recalled a time when the Men in Green were filled with game-changers.

Harbhajan Singh questions Pakistan's unity and match-winning ability

The cricket expert further mentioned that the unity, fire, and lethal bowling attack that once helped Pakistan to dominate, but the current Pakistan side lacks the same edge. However, Harbhajan Singh admitted that they have individuals capable of winning matches, but there is no unity that is required to win the global tournaments.

Harbhajan Singh was quoted as saying by Times of India, "Haven't seen such a Pakistan team in years. When we used to play Pakistan, there was always a feeling that the opposition could beat you because they had star players, power-packed performers, bowling was very good and the unity showed. This (current) team may have players who can win a game on their own, but that unity isn't evident. They have individuals who can win a game on their day. But a team should have 7-8 such players who can win you the championship. I don't see that in this team.”

The former Indian spinner also made a bold statement on Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy win, saying it was the result of a few standout performances, especially by Fakhar Zaman, not the overall team dominance. He also felt there is no comparison between the current India and Pakistan teams.

Harbhajan signed off by saying, “No doubt you won in 2017 when Fakhar Zaman played that big innings. But somewhere, I think, there is a lot of difference now from the days when India and Pakistan used to be nicely balanced teams. Now India is ahead of Pakistan.”

India dominate as Pakistan fall for 241 in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash

Speaking about the ongoing India-Pakistan clash at CT 2025, the Men in Green struggled to put up a big total as they were bowled out for 241 against India in their Champions Trophy 2025 showdown in Dubai. After opting to bat first, Pakistan found themselves in early trouble at 47/2.

However, a crucial 104-run partnership between Saud Shakeel (62) and Mohammad Rizwan (46) steadied their innings. Despite the promising stand, Pakistan failed to capitalize on the foundation, losing wickets at regular intervals in the latter half of the innings.

Their middle and lower orders couldn't provide the finishing touch. On the other hand, Indian bowlers put in a disciplined effort, with Kuldeep Yadav leading the attack by taking 3 for 40. Hardik Pandya also made an impact with 2 for 31, while Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Harshit Rana chipped in with a wicket each against the Men in Blue in the match in Dubai on Sunday.
