Hardik Pandya to announce T20I retirement after 2026 WC triumph? India star drops bomb

Hardik Pandya, 32, made a massive comment about the future of his international career amid the T20 World Cup 2026 trophy-winning celebration. Will he retire soon, as he has already achieved a lot of things in this prestigious cricket career?

The pace-bowling all-rounder has a clear plan to progress the career further. Dismissing all suspense, Pandya said that he will play another 10 years before considering retirement. And in the upcoming years, he vows to dedicate all his efforts to claim as many trophies as possible.

Team India got back-to-back T20 World Cup 2026 trophies, in total, there are currently three T20 WC trophies in the trophy cabinet— the most any team has. In the 2026 edition's title race, Team India was the defending champion as they were the champions of the 2024 T20 WC, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

Over the last one or two years, the team has seen multiple shuffles in the squad, but Hardik Pandya remains one of the key figures. He is now a senior cricketer with the desire to continue his career for another ten years.

Is the star all-rounder set to retire soon from international cricket?

"It sounds very good that I am a senior player now. But I have 10 more years of cricket in me. I have played only half of my career so far; half is left. I would like to win 10 more trophies in total, including ICC and IPL. But ICC trophies are the most important for me", Pandya said in Ahmedabad, after winning the Final against New Zealand by 96 runs.

"I would want to win anything that I play. In the next 10 years, I would definitely win five or six more. Losing was never in my mind. I would like to thank God," he added

Hardik thanked his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, as well for his latest success on the highest platform of the T20I cricket. The all-rounder mentioned that since she became a part of his life, events depicting success keep flowing. In the future, his target will be only to win trophies in any tournament.

Hardik Pandya described his lady love as a lucky charm

"This is the victory I have always lived for. This is why I have played cricket. I want to win trophies. I want to win as many trophies as I can. In 2024, I had said that whatever trophies I play for, I will win. And I believe that. This trophy is a validation of that", Pandya added.

"There is a lot of hard work. There is not only talk, but there is a lot of hard work. Work hard, stay silent, be a good person. Since Maheika has come into my life, I have only been winning", Hardik Pandya concluded his brief by acknowledging his lady love.
