Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee revealed a special gesture from Virat Kohli during his time as the captain of the Indian time. Kohli is regarded as one of the best batters in all formats.

Although the Indian batter is going through a lean patch at the moment in terms of scoring big runs, no one can overlook his achievements in the last decade.

Kohli has scored 8074 Test runs at49.53 and 12311 ODI runs at 58.07 with overall 70 centuries in both the formats. Only Ricky Ponting (71) and Sachin Tendulkar (100) have scored more hundreds than Kohli on the international stage.

Virat Kohli had signed a Test shirt for my son: Brett Lee

Kohli and Brett Lee have faced each other in very few instances when the latter was at the peak of his playing career. Lee has dismissed Kohli once in their five encounters in T20 cricket.
Lee, who picked 518 international wickets for Australia across all formats, shared the incident of Kohli gifting a signed Test jersey to his son Preston.

“One special moment that will stay with me forever was when India were playing a Test match in India. I was commentating on the field and I saw Kohli out in the middle.

“We were talking, laughing and sharing moments about the times we have played against each other,” Lee said in a video shared on his YouTube channel.

“I said ‘my son Preston thinks you are the best thing in slice, already loves you and you’re his favourite player’. He was like, really?

“I said, yeah he loves your cover drive. After the Test match finished, I was presented with a Test shirt: VK captain and Kohli had signed an address to Preston. To this day, the shirt hangs up in his room,” he added.

Virat Kohli doubtful for the second ODI against England

Kohli recently sustained a groin injury while playing for India in the T20I series against England and subsequently missed the first ODI at The Oval. Reports have suggested that the senior Indian player is yet to recover from the injury and might not be available to play the second ODI against England on Thursday (July 14).
