Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday (7th April) announced the central contracts for the next year. A total of 18 players have been handed the national contracts while they have also handed two hybrid contracts, which will run from 01 June 2025 to 31 May 2026.
The hybrid contracts have been handed to David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen. The duo will be given the contacts based on their participation in specific agreed-upon bilateral tours and ICC events. This means that they won't be available for all the games South Africa will play.
David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, Senuran Muthusamy, Lizaad Williams, and Kwena Maphaka get maiden contracts
In the main list, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, Senuran Muthusamy, Lizaad Williams, and Kwena Maphaka are the new entrants. They have got their maiden contracts this season. What caught the attention of many was Heinrich Klaasen's name, which wasn't there on Cricket South Africa's contract list.
This is because the reports claimed that Cricket South Africa is still having discussions with Heinrich Klaasen around his contract. While he is expected to get a contract, Bjorn Fortuin, Andile Phehlukwayo, and Tabraiz Shamsi (withdrew during the season) have missed out on the contracts for next season.
