The rivalry between India & Pakistan is getting bigger with every match. We witnessed the T20 WC 2021 and 2022 clash when it grabbed the eyeballs of the entire world of cricket. Inzamam-ul-Haq was one of the greatest batters Pakistan cricket had ever produced. Inzamam-ul-Haq was also the chief selector when Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in 2017.
Inzamam though wasn’t good at running between the wickets but had an illustrious career. The right-handed batter played 120 Test matches and amassed 8,830 runs, and smashed 25 tons and 46 fifties.

Inzamam-ul-Haq was a force to reckon with in the ODI format as well as he played 378 matches and scored 11,739 runs with an average of 39.52 and struck a whooping 83 half-centuries and 10 tons. It won’t be wrong to say that these numbers suggest that Inzamam was a stalwart of both red-ball and white-ball cricket.
Inzamam-ul-Haq though had a dreadful end to his career as the Men in Green were out of the 2007 WC as the team was knocked out of the qualifying round as they lost the match against West Indies and Ireland.

Inzamam was Asia’s greatest middle order- Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag speaking on his YouTube channel astonishingly said that Inzamam-ul-Haq was Asia’s greatest middle order. Sehwag recalled an incident during 2003-04 and said that the teams used to panic when scoring 80 runs in 10 overs but Inzamam-ul-Haq was quite calm & composed when such sort of equation used to be there.
“Inzi was very sweet. Everyone talks about Sachin Tendulkar, but I believe Inzamam was Asia’s greatest middle-order batter. Tendulkar’s league is beyond the batter’s category now; he’s high above all,” said Virender Sehwag.

“But amongst all batters of India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka – I haven’t seen a better batsman than Inzamam. In 2003 or 2004, teams used to panic when they had to score 80 runs in 10 overs, but he never really worried about it and used to play at eight runs per over on average,” he added.
