Young Indian batter Rinku Singh revealed that he received valuable advice from the legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, which helped him improve his batting as a finisher. Rinku Singh shared that MS Dhoni advised him to stick with the approach that has brought him success thus far.
Rinku Singh was one of the best batters in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023. The left-handed batter smashed five sixes in the last five balls of Yash Dayal’s bowling to help his team. He amassed 474 runs in 14 matches at an exceptional average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53.

The Chat With Mahi Bhai Was Really Productive – Rinku Singh
In an interview with RevSportz, Rinku Singh revealed his conversation with MS Dhoni during the IPL 2023.
“The chat with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) was really productive. He has also batted in similar numbers as I do – at 5 or 6 – and he has done it for the majority of his career, and knows the position in and out,” Rinku told RevSportz.
“I simply asked him how to better my game, and his advice was very simple: “Bohot sahi batting kar raha hai, jo tu kar raha hai, wahi karta reh (You are batting really well. Continue whatever you have done so far),” he added.

My Parents Will Be Happier Than Me – Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh said that it has always been his dream to represent India at the international level, and he dedicated his maiden call-up to the national team to his parents.
“Everyone dreams to play for India, wear that jersey. I don’t think a lot about the future because the more you think, the more burden you put yourself under,” he further stated.

“I take life as one day at a time. But yes, whoever takes up professional sports wants to represent their country one day or the other. I know for the fact that my family, my parents will be happier than me to see me wear the Indian jersey.
They have been waiting for this for years now. They have seen my struggle, they have helped me, been with me through all my ups and downs. The day I don the jersey will be a day dedicated to them,” he concluded.
Rinku Singh was named in the T20 squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies. However, the southpaw was included in India’s squad for the upcoming Asian Games, which are scheduled to be played in China in September.
