India National Cricket Team soon will be announcing the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in PTI, there are chances that some of the bold calls will be taken by the selectors while picking the team for the tournament.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to begin on 19th February, and the deadline to announce the squad for the tournament is 12th January. The BCCI, along with the head coach Gautam Gambhir and selectors, will soon be meeting to name the team.

But as per the reports, it is learned that if head coach Gautam Gambhir still has his say in the selection matters after the Australia tour, then there is every chance that Sanju Samson will be there. The reports added that he will be the backup keeper to Rishabh Pant in the team as KL Rahul will be left out.

Sanju Samson has a decent track record in the ODIs and also slammed a century in the last ODI that he played in South Africa. The keeper-batter averages over 56 in the format and has slammed 510 runs in the 16 games that he has played to go with one century and three half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to form the batting core for India

The reports also claimed that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to form the batting core for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to be in the squad, as selectors want a left-handed batter in the top four.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is yet to make his debut for India National Cricket Team in the ODIs but has been extremely successful for the team in the Tests and T20Is. Hence, it's a no-brainer; with the ability that he has, he will be doing the job for the team in the format if given a chance.

The discussions are all set to be around three spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Ravi Bishnoi. It is learned that their future will be debated when the selectors meet to pick the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. If Kuldeep won't be fit by that time, then either Bishnoi or Chakravarthy will be picked.

Washington Sundar will be there as an off-spinner, while Hardik Pandya will be the seam-bowling all-rounder. India National Cricket Team will also be having reserves for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It is learned that there will be a choice between Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma in the batting department.
