It’s Been An Exciting Journey: Ravichandran Ashwin

” It has been an exciting journey for everybody inside the Test team. There have been a lot of players who have been playing for more than a decade. The turnaround started in 2014-15. MS Dhoni had just retired and we have played for a few Tests” said Ashwin.

He then spoke about Team India qualifying for the WTC final on back-to-back occasions. India lost to New Zealand in the previous final but as per Ashwin, they are much better prepared this season.

“We had to start a journey of our own, it’s never easy without the seniors but I can comfortably say that all the efforts we have put in have come to good results over the two editions of WTC. We are qualifying second time for the final which is no mean feat” Ashwin further said.

He concluded by saying that India reaching the final for the second time is a reward for playing consistent cricket. Speaking his final words he took a cheeky dig at Cheteshwar Pujara.

“Like Pujji said in his 100th Test match video, I think we all deserve to win this for Pujji” Ashwin concluded saying.

Australia are also eagerly looking forward to the final. They will win the WTC title for the first time if they beat India in the final. They will also play the Ashes series right after the WTC final starting June 16.
