Kolkata Knight Riders: Pat Cummins- 15.5 crores
Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni- 15 crores

The mastermind of Indian cricket, MS Dhoni was bought for 15 crores by the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural IPL auction and Dhoni has won them three IPL titles already. He repaid CSK’s faith in him by taking CSK into the playoffs every year until 2020 and he will be captaining the side in the upcoming IPL 2021.
Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma- 15 crores

Rohit Sharma is the most successful IPL captain of all time with five IPL titles under his belt after getting picked by Mumbai in 2012. He was picked by Mumbai in 2012 and he will be leading Mumbai Indians in their title defence after winning the 2020 IPL in UAE.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner- 12.5 crores

David Warner has led Sunrisers to their maiden IPL title in 2016 and has been consistent with his performances for the team. He is a true leader and the fans of Sunrisers are really passionate about him when he plays in Hyderabad. He has a phenomenal IPL record and he is one of the greatest match-winners for his team. Sunrisers finished third in the last season and he will be looking to lead his team to another title.
Rajasthan Royals: Ben Stokes- 12.5 crores

Ben Stokes fared out really well in his first IPL season for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017, which increased his bidding amount to 12.5 crores in 2018. Ben Stokes could not produce the same performances as he did for RPS, but he is a match-winner on any day, and he will surely be a success in the future. Stokes had glimpses of old form returning in last season and he will due in for a big season in the upcoming IPL 2021.
Kings XI Punjab: KL Rahul- 11 crores

Kings XI Punjab went all out for KL Rahul in the 2018 mega auction and it paid high dividends for them as Rahul proved to be a great purchase. He scored a 14ball fifty for Punjab in 2018 and won matches for his side single-handedly. His excellent performances earned him the captaincy role for the franchise in the last season, and he will be looking to win the first title for Punjab in IPL 2021.
Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant- 8 crores

The Indian youngster Rishabh Pant is one of the rockstars of IPL and has been a key performer for Delhi over the years. He was the highest run-getter for the franchise in 2018 and 2019 but struggled in the last season missing out on injuries for fewer matches. Rishabh Pant will be high on confidence after his performances in Australia and will be looking to take the team to their maiden IPL trophy in the 2021 season.
This could also be the last IPL season where eight franchises will be fighting it for the trophy with BCCI planning to rope in two more teams for the coming years.
