Australia National Cricket Team Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins has shared his burning desire to register a Test series victory over the India National Cricket Team.

Pat Cummins has tasted huge success against India, especially in the mega-events. He guided the Aussies to epic wins over the Men In Blue in the ICC World Test Championship and ICC ODI World Cup finals. However, he is yet to win a Test series as captain against India.

India and Australia set to lock horns in five-match Test series

India and Australia will soon be locking horns with each other in a high-octane five-match Test series Down Under. The first Test will start on November 22 in Perth. The next four matches will begin on December 6, 14, 26, and January 3 in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

Team India are the current holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they beat Australia at home in the previous series. Australia have not got their hands on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy since 2014, which was the last time they won the Test series.

The Indian team have won the last four series between the teams, including the victories on Australian soil on the last two tours in 2018-19 and 2020-21.

It's kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off - Pat Cummins

Speaking ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Pat Cummins stated that winning the Test series against India is his ultimate goal and, especially at home because they have faced defeats in the last two series.

"It's kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off," Cummins told AAP on Tuesday. "Particularly winning at home. Most Australians, me included, expect us to do well whenever we play at home.

"We've lost the (last) two series against them (in Australia), so this is a big one. We feel like our team's in a really good place, so we've got no reason why we shouldn't perform really well."

Pat Cummins added that he expects a good performance from his team against every opposition they face, but particularly against the Indian team. He stated:

"I just always expect us to do well against whoever we play. But India, particularly, is a big year, big season."

But they've been out here before and performed well - Pat Cummins

India National Cricket Team have been in terrible form of late as they faced a shocking Test series defeat at the hands of the New Zealand National Cricket Team at home.

It was the first time in over a decade that India lost a home Test series and with that, their historic 18 Test series winning streak on home soil was also broken.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins said that the visitors being under pressure following their recent setback will be a huge advantage for the Aussies.

Pat Cummins further stated that the job of his team is to keep the Indian team quiet as they have been quite successful in Australia.

"I think any time a team's under pressure, it's not a bad thing if you're playing against them," Cummins said. "But they've been out here before and performed well. Our job is to try and keep them quiet, see how we go."
