England National Cricket Team mentor James Anderson gave his verdict on the same pitch reportedly being used for the second Test against the Pakistan National Cricket Team in Multan. He said that it will benefit them as spinners will play a massive role for them.

England National Cricket Team and Pakistan National Cricket Team will be facing each other in the second game of the three-match series. The match between the teams will be played from Tuesday (15th October) at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, where the first game was played.

There have been several reports that have claimed that Pakistan have decided to play on a used surface for the second Test. It is expected that the pitch will have a lot of cracks, and spinners from both teams are likely to play a massive role in the second game, which could be a series-deciding game.

England, who won the first Test of the series by a massive margin of innings and 47 runs, would be hoping to carry on the same confidence in the second game. They came up with a sensational effort with the bat and ball in the opening game and outclassed the opposition.

Ben Stokes like to play the second Test

England also are hoping that Ben Stokes will make a comeback to the team. The all-rounder missed the first game as he wasn't fit after he faced a hamstring injury during the Hundred 2024 while playing for Northern Superchargers in the league.

England's fast bowler mentor, James Anderson, is confident that Ben Stokes will be back in the team for the second Test. He said that the all-rounder worked hard on his fitness. Speaking to BBC about the same, the former fast bowler of the team James Anderson said:

“He looks great. He has worked really hard on his fitness and is looking as strong as I've ever seen him… Knowing Ben, once he gets into the game, there will be no stopping him. He's just that sort of player. He's good to go: we'll just have to wait and see what he can do in the game."

We don't know what we're going to get - James Anderson on Multan pitch

James Anderson further talked about the workload of Ben Stokes, saying that Pakistan choosing the used pitch could work in their favor as spinners will play a major role in the game then. James Anderson added:

“When we're talking about Ben's workloads and his bowling, it might play into our hands with that, with the spinners potentially playing more of a part… We don't know what we're going to get.” said James Anderson.
