A massive update has arrived regarding the Zimbabwe International and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Blessing Muzarabani. In a latest announcement made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), led by Mohsin Naqvi, the pacer has been banned from participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for a couple of years.
PCB has banned Blessing Muzarabani for two PSL seasons as he pulled out from the PSL 2026 season to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for KKR. Muzarabani was about to play for the PSL team Islamabad United, but, ahead of the PSL 2026 season, he opted out of the tournament to join the IPL team.
PCB issued an official statement on Blessing Muzarabani
“Professionalism in franchise-based leagues requires participants to act with transparency and consistency. Entering into a conflicting engagement while a prior binding agreement subsists represents a departure from the expected standards of the game," PCB said in a statement.
"Such conduct, if left unaddressed, erodes the reliability of dealings and the confidence that franchises, regulators, and stakeholders place in professional engagements. The two-year ban reflects the gravity of the breach,' the statement further reads.

Kolkata Knight Riders signed Blessing Muzarabani as the replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
The Kolkata-based franchise signed the Zimbabwe pacer after the snub of the Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman. It was reported that Muzarabani terminated his contract with the Islamabad United after being approached by the IPL team.
PCB took the matter in strict hands and announced the ban of the seamer for two PSL seasons. In the previous season, a similar incident happened with the South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, who also terminated his PSL contract to play in the Indian Premier League.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Bosch was contracted with Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category in the PSL draft. Later, when the Mumbai Indians (MI) showed their interest in the pace bowling all-rounder, Bosch skipped PSL 2025 to join the Mumbai Indians. MI called him as a replacement player in IPL 2025 for the injured Lizaad Williams. In the wake of the incident, PCB handed the Protea cricketer a one-year ban from playing in the Pakistan Super League.
Spencer Johnson and Dasun Shanaka also pulled themselves out of the PSL 2026 deals.
Along with Blessing Muzarabani, there are two other players who pulled themselves out from the 2026 PSL to take part in the IPL 2026 season. Australian Pacer Spencer Johnson and Sri Lankan international Dasun Shanaka were the other two players who decided not to play in Pakistan's franchise league before the beginning of the tournament. It will be interesting to see whether PCB takes any steps against these two players as well.
