Litton Das breaks silence on his house reportedly being burned down in fiery Bangladesh protests

Bangladesh cricketer Litton Das has assured of his and his family's well-being amid the socio-political warfare in Bangladesh. Bangladesh's Prime Minister left the country with the downfall of the previous government.

The sudden outrage of the general public against the Awani League leaders in a protest mobilized by the young students has caught the country in a position of weakness. Regular protests have seen unrest mount in the country with the life of the general public under threat.

In a situation like this, Bangladesh cricketer Litton Das through a Facebook post has denied rumors of his house being burnt down in the protest.

On August 9, Litton Das posted in Bangla on his Facebook profile, addressing the circulating news and rumors regarding an alleged attack on his residence. He clarified that such reports, suggesting an assault on him and his family, were entirely baseless and that no such incident had occurred.

Despite all the regional protests, he spoke about the country hopefully finding its strength in unity emphasizing that the primary objective should be for the nation to move forward collectively and strive for progress in all aspects, instead of getting down to low levels of needless violence.

I And My Family Are Totally Safe: Litton Das

"My countrymen, I want to address something. In recent times there have been a news being spread over that my home is being burnt, but this news is totally false. Don't listen to these rumours. I and my family is totally safe" Litton Das wrote in the post.

"And I truly believe Bangladesh is a non-communal country. We need to focus on how to take this country ahead being together. My Dinajpur people along with the entire country, the way you stood up to save others is truly commendable and I'm gratitude. And I will hope to stay together and will keep aside all kinds of violence from this country. Because this country belongs to all of us" he further added.

A few days ago the house of Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was set on fire by the protestors because he was the MP in the Awami League government.

Bangladesh are scheduled to travel to Pakistan for a two-match Test series and all cricket fans in the country would be hoping that their beloved cricketers bring some happiness with their game in Pakistan.

The country is as of now the official hosts of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in October. A few days ago they participated in the Women's Asia Cup 2024. Meanwhile, the recent developments in Bangladesh have forced the ICC to look for an alternate venue with India being one of them.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has further written Bangladesh Army Chief of Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Thursday seeking security assurance for the conduct of the tournament, which is currently scheduled to begin on September 27.
