Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag undoubtedly knows a thing or two about attacking gameplay. Virender Sehwag was a terror for the opposition as he used to attack the opposition bowlers from the get-go to assert his authority. Thus, he was all praises for Ishan Kishan, who in his international debut sizzled with a swashbuckling half-century in pursuit of 165 in the second T20I against England in Ahmedabad.

Ishan Kishan earned the nod for the second T20I along with Suryakumar Yadav as they dropped Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel. The southpaw, who sparkled in IPL 2020, was in business in the national colours, too, as he put the pressure back on England even after the hosts lost KL Rahul for a duck. Kishan struck 54 off 29 deliveries that contained five fours and four massive sixes.

But the 22-year old had a stroke of luck as well when ace all-rounder Ben Stokes dropped a straightforward chance at mid-on. The Bihar-born cricketer added 94 for the second wicket with Virat Kohli before losing his wicket to leggie Adil Rashid while going for the reverse sweep and got into a tangle. The Indian captain stayed till the end to finish the proceedings as India recorded a seven-wicket win to bounce back from an eight-wicket loss and level the series.

Below is Virender Sehwag’s tweet for Ishan Kishan:
