LSG vs KKR Scorecard, IPL 2024, Match 54 Highlights: Sunil Narine's all-round show seals the game for Kolkata Knight Riders

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 54th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (5th May). 

Kolkata Knight Riders completely dominated Lucknow Super Giants and registered their 8th win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They batted and bowled incredibly well and thrashed the opposition by a massive margin of 98 runs to go to the top of the table.

Kolkata Knight Riders were asked to bat first and they came up with another magnificent performance. Phil Salt (32) and Sunil Narine (81) yet again came out all guns blazing and set the stage on fire with their aggressive batting at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. 

The duo added 61 runs for the opening partnership before youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi (32) played a decent innings at No.3, adding 79 runs with Sunil Narine. The second-wicket partnership put Lucknow Super Giants under immense pressure and put Kolkata Knight Riders at the top spot. 

Andre Russell (12) and Rinku Singh (16) were promoted up the order but they couldn't quite set the stage on fire. Skipper Shreyas Iyer (23) played a decent knock before Ramandeep Singh came up with a brutal cameo at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. 

The batter scored 26 runs in just 6 balls. Based on the rollicking effort with the bat, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a gigantic total of 235 runs, which was the highest at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow in the history of the shortest format for the game. 

For Lucknow Super Giants, Naveen-ul-Haq was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/49. Apart from him, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, and Yudhvir Singh picked one wicket each.

LSG vs KKR IPL 2024 Match 54 - Lucknow Super Giants innings: Varun Chakravarty, and Harshit Rana shined with the ball

Lucknow Super Giants didn't have a great outing with the bat. First, Arshin Kulkarni (9) fell and after that skipper, KL Rahul (25) and Marcus Stoinis (36) tried to keep the team in the hunt. The duo added 50 runs for the second wicket but after that, nothing went in the home team's way. 

Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers were all over the Lucknow Super Giants batters and picked wickets at regular intervals. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarty picked three wickets each whereas Andre Russell grabbed two wickets. Sunil Narine was also among the wickets as they bundled out the opposition for 137 runs to win the game by a massive margin of 98 runs.
