In the 50th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-1, Perth Scorchers will take on Melbourne Stars on January 23 (Saturday) in Melbourne. This will be the second meeting of the two sides.

The first meeting of Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars ended in no result due to rain. But this time they will be fighting to maintain their spot in the top four. Scorchers are at the second position in the points table while Stars are just below them at the third position.

Here, let’s take a look at Perth Scorchers predicted, XI:

Jason Roy:

While chasing the total, Jason Roy has been too good in the ongoing season. In the low-scoring match against Hobart Hurricanes, he struck unbeaten 74 runs off 52 balls, striking eight fours and three sixes. It was the first fifty for him in six matches played. Perth Scorchers will want him to replicate the similar knock and guide them to top the points table.

Liam Livingstone:

Jason Roy’s countryman Liam Livingstone returned to the groove against Hobart Hurricanes in the first meeting. He set up 123 runs partnership with Roy in which he scored 54 runs, the maiden half-century for him in this season. The side will only have the upper hand against Melbourne Stars if Liam Livingstone again sets up a good partnership with Roy.

The New Zealander Colin Munro, who is playing in the BBL to prove his mettle to his national selector, is the highest scorer for Perth Scorchers. In 11 matches, he has scored 358 runs, including four half-centuries at the strike rate of 132.20. Against Brisbane Heat, he came out as the savior of the team after the early fall of openers. He scored 82 runs off 54 balls.

After being demoted from opener to middle-order, Josh Inglish has started churning out runs for Perth Scorchers. He scored the first fifty of this season against Melbourne Renegades. The right-hand batsman remained not out and scored 72 runs to set up 186 runs target. Inglis’s return back is a big positive for the team.

Mitchell Marsh:

He is the leading wicket-taker of the side, picking 25 wickets in 12 matches at the economy rate of 6.47.
