Kolkata Knight Riders have a quick turnaround as they face Delhi Capitals on Monday, April 29 after their loss to Punjab Kings on Friday. This is the side's penultimate game at home and a must-win game if they are to stay within the top four of the points table.

KKR posted 261 against the Punjab Kings but still lost the game. While their batters have been consistently posting scores above 200 their bowlers are conceding the runs almost in every game. KKR have not yet made the Eden Gardens a fortress like the Royals had made the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

The Eden Gardens track especially in evening games have been a belter for batting and the chasing teams are facing to chase anything at this point. In this IPL scores above 220 have been a norm for batting first and teams have also posted beyond 250 multiple times batting first.

Heading into this game, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer and the management need to look at where they can strengthen their bowling attack. Afghan spinner Allah Ghazanfar is yet to get a game. KKR brought in DUmantha Chameera instead of Mitchell Starc by giving him a break the move did not work out as expected.

KKR are waiting for the return of Nitish Rana. He injured his left hand in the very first match against SRH and since then has been out of the side. There are reports that he is fit and might return for the game against DC on April 29. Whether KKR makes any changes to their bowling attack will be an interesting observation.

KKR Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals- IPL 2024, Match 47

Sunil Narine

Narine will be opening the batting for KKR. This year he has been a revelation at the top scoring 357 runs in 8 innings and picking 10 wickets with the ball so far. He scored 71 against PBKS and went for just 24 runs off his four overs.

Phil Salt (WK)

Salt will open the batting with Narine. Together they have worked wonders for KKR. He scored 75 of 37 balls against PBKS and has scored 324 runs for the season already.

Venkatesh Iyer

KKR might stick with Venkatesh Iyer at number three. The southpaw has been producing quickfire cameos. He scored 39 off 23 balls against PBKS.

Shreyas Iyer (C)

The skipper might slot in at four. He scored 28 off 10 balls against PBKS and kept up the momentum scoring at a strike rate of 280 in the game. He has scored 218 runs in this season so far.

Nitish Rana / Angkrish Raghuvanshi

If Rana returns, he will bat at five, if he does not then Rinku Singh will bat at five with Andre Russell and Ramandeep Singh to follow. Rana is the vice-captain of the team and a good player of spin in the middle overs.

Rinku Singh

Rinku will slot in at six. He is being used purely as a finisher by the KKR management which is harming his chance of selection for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Andre Russell

The all-rounder will bat at seven. He scored 24 off 12 balls against PBKS scoring a strike rate of 200. He was expensive with the ball going for 36 of his two overs.

Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep will slot in at eight. He scored 24 off 9 balls against RCB and scored six off just three balls against PBKS. He has done a brilliant job with the bat so far.

Dusmantha Chameera

KKR might just stick with Dusmantha Chameera for the next match against Delhi Capitals. He replaced Mitchell Starc who injured his finger against RCB and was rested for this game. The pacer went for 48 off his three overs.

Varun Chakravarthy

Chakravarthy will slot in at 10. He went for 46 off his three overs. He has picked up nine wickets this season so far but could not back up Sunil Narine in the match against PBBKS. He will need to bowl better against DC.

Harshit Rana

Rana concludes the lineup for KKR against DC. He too has picked up nine wickets in seven matches for KKR but was expensive against PBKS. He went for 61 off his four overs.

Impact Sub-Vaibhav Arora / Suyash Sharma

Vaibhav should ideally be used as the Impact sub ky KKR. KKR's move to use Suyash Sharma as the Im[pact sub did not work against RCB. Anukul Roy also did not work against PBKS and was way too expensive.
