Mohammed Siraj Comes Up With Heart-Warming Gesture For 'Superhero' Virat Kohli

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj penned an emotional tribute to Virat Kohli who recently stepped down as India’s Test captain. Kohli took over the mantle from MS Dhoni in 2014 and won 40 out of the 68 Test matches he led India in. The recent Test series loss against South Africa saw Kohli take the decision to step down which came as a shock to the Indian cricket fraternity and fans.
Meanwhile, as a tribute to Virat Kohli, Siraj penned an emotional post on his Instagram handle owing his career to his “superhero” thanking him for brotherly support, trust, and seeing the great in him even at his worst. Siraj further stated that Kohli will always be his captain.

“To my superhero, I cannot thankful enough for the support and encourage I get from you. You have always been a great brother to me thank you for trusting in me and believing me all these years. Seeing the great at my worst. You always my captain king Kohli ? (sic)”.

Mohammed Siraj made his ODI and T2oI debut under Kohli’s captaincy. He is also a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore, which was previously led by Kohli. He has developed into a matchwinning bowler for India under the guidance of the former Indian skipper. Kohli, on his part, has often praised Siraj and his ability to swing the new ball.
Siraj who is a part of the Indian ODI squad for the South Africa series missed the third Test due to a hamstring injury. A world on his fitness and his availability for the first ODI is awaited from the BCCI. The first of the three ODIs will be played on February 19. Having lost the Test series, Team India would look to make amends in the white-ball games.
KL Rahul will lead the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma who is out due to an injury. Jasprit Bumrah will be Rahul’s deputy for the series.
