Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has revealed his picks for the top five Test cricketers in the world at present. The debate over who are the best Test cricketers in the world right now have become the talk of the town after the thrilling first two Ashes Tests between England and Australia.

The first two games of the five-match series has seen some stunning performances. In the first Test played at Edgbaston, Joe Root and Usman Khawaja scored impressive centuries in the first innings before the latter scored a crucial fifty in the second innings too. The likes of Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon also impressed with their bowling performance as well as batting performance in the second innings.

In the second Test, Steve Smith showed his class by smashing his 32nd Test ton while England opener Ben Duckett played impressive knocks of 83 and 98. In the second innings, England captain Ben Stokes played a scintillating knock of 155 runs while the likes of Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc showed their class with the ball on a pitch that did not offer much to the bowlers.

After the Test ended, veteran sports journalist and commentator Ayaz Memon took to Twitter to ask the cricketing fraternity about their best Test cricketers, writing: “Who are the 5 best Test cricketers in the world today? Not just in terms of skill , but game-changers, matchwinners, players most likely to cone good on the ‘Big Occasion’. I’ll pitch 2 names: Ben Stokes. Pat Cummins. (surely No dispute here surely!). Pick 3 others”

The fans were quick to come up with their choices and Harbhajan Singh also followed suit. The legendary spinner named Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes as his top Test cricketers at present.

Talking about the Ashes series, Australia are currently leading it after winning both the Tests so far. They won the first Test by 2 wickets before beating the home side by 43 runs in the second Test. A draw in the remaining three games will be more than enough for them to retain the Ashes.
