“Two of the foreign coaches have already arrived in Lahore, while Mickey Arthur is coming on April 18. He will also take charge in one or two matches of the series against the Kiwis.”
Pakistan will look to win a series in home conditions against a big team ahead of the Asia Cup at home later this year.
Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn’s appointment comes after Najam Sethi showed his displeasure with local coaches
Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn’s appointment as consultant and head coach of Pakistan’s national team respectively comes after PCB Chairman Najam Sethi expressed how foreign coaches are more professional than local coaches, and how they scarcely involve themselves in politics.
“I stand by my opinion that foreign coaches stay away from politics. They are also usually more professional. Pakistan also has good professional coaches available, but in our culture, friendships carry a significant weight in decision-making. In professional cricket, where you compete at the highest level, these things should not be present,” said Sethi.
Mickey Arthur has found success as an official in the Pakistan National Cricket Team. He would be looking to repeat it in the upcoming months.
