Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going through a phase of transition at the moment. The former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja’s axe has raised a lot of eyebrows as he not only successfully conducted Australia and Englandtours but has made sure that Pakistan hosts the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Under the tenure of Ramiz Raja, the Men in Green had 2 great T20 World Cups in 2021 & 2022. The former Chairman would be disappointed that the team couldn’t reach the final of the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) as the team couldn’t win the crunch moments of the match.
Ramiz Raja was quite angry where he severely criticized PCB for changing the PCB Constitution in the middle of his tenure. The former Cricketer took a dig at Najam Sethi and made strong remarks on him. PCB has issued a statement and compared both Ramiz Raja & Najam Sethi’s tenures.
PCB has expressed its disappointment over the comments made and language used by former Chairman Mr Ramiz Raja against the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee Mr Najam Sethi
PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has started making changes to the setup as Shahid Afridi has been named the new interim chief selector. According to the reports Mickey Arthur is all set to be the new Head Coach as in 2017 he took Pakistan to a Champions Trophy triumph against all odds and there might be a change in other departments as well.

With less than a year left for ICC World Cup 2023, these changes can affect the dynamics of the team. It would be interesting to see whether Babar Azam’s captaincy is also snatched away. The right-handed batter hasn’t been able to perform in tricky situations for the team due to which there has been immense pressure on the rest of the batting lineup. It would be interesting to see whether Sarfaraz Ahmed gets a chance to feature in the playing 11 across all formats as in the 1st innings of 1st Test Match against New Zealand, he looked in sublime touch.
