Indian left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav penned a heartfelt note for Virat Kohli after he stepped down as India’s Test captain after leading the team for seven years.
On 15 January 2022, Virat Kohli shocked the cricketing world with his announcement regarding leaving the Test captaincy. Previously, Kohli had also relinquished the T20I captaincy and was removed from ODI captaincy because the BCCI selectors didn’t want to have two white-ball captains in the team.
Virat Kohli took the reins of the Indian Test team when India were ranked 7th in the ICC rankings and he took the team to the No.1 spot in the rankings and India became a dominant force in world cricket.
Virat Kohli will go down in the history as the most successful Indian Test captain as, under his leadership, the Indian team reached new heights and team India won 40 of the 68 Tests they played under Kohli’s leadership. India lost 17 matches under his leadership and 11 matches ended in a draw.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is ranked 4th in the list of captains with most Test wins in their career, he is just behind the likes of Graeme Smith (53 wins), Ricky Ponting (48 wins) and Steve Waugh ( 41 wins).
Also, if reports are to be believed Rohit Sharma will captain India in their next Test assignment which will be against Sri Lanka at home in February-March, where Kohli will be playing his 100th Test match.
